Kaeo Egg workshop at Whangaroa College

We just had the first workshop with the friday art classes involving year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students. We had an awesome day constructing our own Kaeo eggs!

What are Kaeo Eggs?

Kaeo eggs are geodes found in the river. Some of the students recently visited the Waiare river with their science class and collected some of these geodes. They contain mineral deposits which we think might be Galena, a lead based mineral.
